July Toddler Activities
Paper Plate Fish

Watermelon Activity

Cut a watermelon in half lengthwise. Let toddlers scoop watermelon into bowls. As they eat, have them put the seeds on napkins. When finished eating, count the seeds. Lay the seeds out to dry and use later to make collages.

Sun Visors

Flag Activity

Show children the American flag or a picture of one. Talk about the flag and where they can see the flag. Ask them to name the colors and together count the stars and stripes.

Working with Water Tables

Add variety to your water table with these ideas:

Add liquid dish soap to the water for bubble making
Set out plastic drinking straws to use for blowing toy boats across the water
Add a couple drops of food coloring to the water
Vary the temperature of the water
Set out measuring cups, funnels, strainers, and basters
Give them things that sink and float

Clown Bean Bag Toss

Draw a large clown face on a poster board. Tape the clown face to the floor and put a line of masking tape a few feet away from the clown. Toddlers will enjoy tossing a beanbag onto the clowns face.
