Toddlers and preschoolers can make Valentine Cards to give to family members and friends. Teach toddlers about President's Day and Groundhog Day with songs and activities. Toddlers and Preschoolers can learn with Valentine matching games and puzzles.
Valentine Collage
Cut out differentl sizes of heart shapes from different kinds of paper. Have toddlers glue the hearts on large pieces of white paper. Overlap the hearts for interesting collages. Add glitter or valentine stickers etc.
Glitter Hearts
Cut large heart shapes from white paper and let toddlers and preschoolers use finger paint to create heart shapes. While the paint is wet, sprinkle glitter on the hearts.

Heart Necklace
Cut small hearts out of red or pink paper. With a hole punch make a hole near the top of each heart. Cut plastic straws into 1 inch pieces. Cut yarn about 18 inches. Wrap tape around the end of the yarn to make a needle. Toddlers or Preschoolers will love to string the heart shapes and straw one after the other to make a necklace. Tie yarn ends together when done.
Doily Rubbing
This is an interesting activity for toddlers and preschoolers for Valentine's Day. Using doilies with different designs, tape the doilie to larger pieces of paper and then with a crayon or chalk, rub over the doilies to make designs.
Handy Valentine Card
Using red or pink construction paper, trace child's hand and cut out. Take small valentine cards and glue on the palm of the hand cut out. Help child write his name if needed.
Valentine Punch and Lace
Cut out large heart shapes from construction or card stock paper. Card stock is sturdier. With a hole punch, punch out holes on outer edge of heart about 3/4 inch from edge. Take about 25 inches of yarn (may need more is heart is large,) put some tape on the end for a needle, and lace the yarn through holes. Decorate the heart shapes as you like!
3 Cornered Hat for President's Day
Cut a 9x12 inche piece of blue construction paper into 3 9x4 inch strips. Decorate the strips with stars and red circles for cherries. Simply staple the short ends of the paper strips together to form a triangle shaped hat.
Valentine Matching
Cut 12 medium sized hearts out of construction paper. Cut each heart into a two-piece puzzle. Remember to cut each puzzle to look different. Have kids find the matching puzzle piece and join together.
