Toddler Learning Games The life of a toddler does not need to be day after day of organized activities, but putting in a good routine can help you and your child. If she knows that on Monday you go to the park, on Wednesday you go to playgroup and on Saturday you have a special Breakfast, it will give her stability and confidence, knowing what is going to happen day to day, but allowing flexibility too.

Free Toddler Lesson Plans Keeping Your Kids Active in the Winter

by Family Niche Marketing on 12/31/11

Winter can be a hassle with trying to keep your toddler busy, that when a good solid lesson plan will come in handy. And it is important to have a lesson plan packed with toddler-friendly both mentally stimulating exercises and physically stimulating exercises.

Finding these on the web is easy, you just have to search for them. The key is to sit with your toddler during the lesson plan to keep him interested. Often parents think that having their toddler learn something is as easy as sitting them down with an activity and walking away to do a chore. The most effective way for them to learn from free toddler lesson plans is to sit with them and talk them through them.

In addition to keeping your toddler mentally stimulated, it's important also keep your toddler physically stimulated with some good indoor physical activities like mommy and me yoga, or trying to teach them how to play a sport at the local community center gym. Call some of your friends' kids and make a class out of it, especially if you cannot afford preschool.

Taking advantage of the teaching ideas for toddlers available online in addition to indulging in indoor physical activities for your kids can help them develop motor and mental skills that they will carry throughout the rest of their lives. The key is to not spend too much money and really take advantage of free toddler lesson plans that you can find easily online on many mommy websites.

Winter Crafts For Toddlers

by Family Niche Marketing on 12/13/11

For toddlers who always want to play outside, it can get boring after being cooped up inside the house in cold winter days. As a parent or someone who takes care of active tots, you should know how you can entertain them during the whole winter period so that they will not feel restless and bored. One thing you can do is to think of some winter crafts for toddlers that you can do with your children. Here are some ideas and tips that might be useful.

  • Winter is always associated with Christmas, so your projects can be related to Christmas as well. One of the easiest crafts for toddlers is to make a miniature Christmas tree from dried twigs and branches. Collect some dried twigs and branches with interesting shapes and insert them in a pot with soil, Styrofoam, or sponge. Let your toddler decorate the tree by hanging red, green, white, and silver ribbons, small Christmas balls, star cut-outs, and other decorations related to Christmas.
  • You can also make a Christmas stocking with your child using an old sock that is big enough to hold small treats. Make it even more fun by telling your child that Santa Claus will bring some treats every night until Christmas if he tries to decorate it as beautifully as he could. Of course, do not break that promise or your toddler will be disappointed.
  • Keep Glue, Pipecleaners, Googly eyes and other fun objects handy for creative projects when the kids need an outlet.

There are so many winter crafts for toddlers if you research on them at the library or online. Choose the one which you think your child will enjoy the most.

Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer Paper Craft for Toddlers and Preschool

by Family Niche Marketing on 12/07/11

In the preschool where I previously worked, they did a cute Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer craft with construction paper. You'll need about 3 sheets of brown paper, scissors, either a red pom pom or red felt or paper for the nose and glue.

Have the kids take off their shoes and socks and then trace one foot on brown construction paper. Next, trace both hands with the other two pieces of brown paper and cut out all of the shapes. There you have a head (the foot) and two antlers (each hand.)

Glue each antler onto the head and then add a red nose and some eyes to complete Rudolph!

Here's a link to an example. They use googly eyes, but with little kids, that's entirely up to you: http://crafts.kaboose.com/hands-and-feet-reindeer.html

Christmas Crafts for Toddlers

by Family Niche Marketing on 11/27/11

The holiday season is a wonderful time for the family, especially when there are little ones in the house. Toddlers present their own unique challenges when it comes to all of the new things to look at, touch and experience. Parents need not worry too much about keeping toddlers happy during the holiday season; many are content playing with a box or some wrapping paper!

Do not plan too many activities in one day for toddler age children; this will only lead to crankiness and crying which is not what we're after this time of year. Let toddler help as much as possible with making cookies, wrapping gifts and even Christmas decorating. They will have a blast working with mom or dad in making their own Christmas craft projects to display around the house or to give to Grandparents or friends. Here are a few easy Christmas Crafts for Toddlers to try with your child. Have fun!

Christmas Crafts for Toddlers

Christmas toddler craft ideas are fun for me to come up with. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. So I am sure that is why Christmas crafts are a big hit with my family. We love doing them together and cannot wait until this time of year rolls around. I have a 3 year old and I wanted to come up with some easy but yet fun crafts that he would enjoy. I hope that you and your family will enjoy them as well.

Easy Ornaments

Items needed: cardboard, glue, crayons, washable markers, glitter sequins, yarn

What to do: Moms and Dads, you can cut out stars or circles. Any item you wish trace and cut out of the cardboard. Then allow your toddler to decorate the "ornament" you cut out. They will have so much fun. When they are finished, cut a hole at the top and then add some yarn and hang on the tree. You will treasure these ornaments for years to come.

Easy Snowman

Items Needed: Construction paper, glues, cotton balls, wiggly eyes (optional)

What to do: On a piece of construction paper Moms or dads, draw three circles to represent the snowman. Put glue on the snowman and then allow your toddler to put cotton balls all over the snowman. My little boy loves to make these. I will make a little hat and we glue it on together. We then glue the wiggly eyes on the snowman. You can customize your snowman as you wish. Great for Toddlers!!

Candy Cane Photo Frame Ornament

Items Needed: Candy Canes large, glue, any photo you wish for the frame, red or green felt, red ribbon

What to do:Form a heart with two candy canes and then glue at the top and the bottom. Allow to dry. Run ribbon through the heart and glue to the top of the candy canes. Trace the heart's outside edge onto two pieces of felt and then cut out. In one heart cut on oval or square window. Line up photo in window, and glue in place. Let dry. Glue candy canes frame to felt.

I hope that you have enjoyed just a few of my toddler Christmas craft ideas. Your toddler will have so much fun doing these crafts. Also, remember this is the season of giving, so give a little more of your self to those who are less fortunate.
